The Haunting of Bly Manor and the Anatomy of an Easter Egg – Den of Geek

The nameless child youll see behind the staircase, when people migrate up and down the stairs, which is a lot. The ghost doctor we see in the study and then a couple of other places. And Viola, we see her in the attic, Kniest says.

By keeping the hidden ghosts consistent and identifiable throughout, Flanagan and the show create a feeling of lived-in history for Bly Manor. These are real inhabitants damned to spend their days standing around a cavernous manor, unnoticed by anyone other than the ultra observant Miles and Flora Wingrave. But of course, the reality of bringing in actors for Easter egg appearances is a touch more mundane than that, according to Kniest.

Its funny because the actors who play the parts come in, but then when we use (the characters) as ghosts, a lot of times theyre sort of background actors or stand-ins, or stunt doubles, the cinematographer explains. So they wait around a lot for us to get set up. But then I think theyre super excited when we get to actually put them on camera.

The scattered ghosts arent the only Easter eggs for The Haunting of Bly Manor. For one, Danis room at the hostel is 217, which is the number of a fateful room in The Shining (the book, not the film, though as director of Doctor Sleep, Flanagan is clearly well-read on both). Nor are the ghosts the only bit of visual flair for these nine episodes. Kniest, who previously shot horror film Hush alongside Flanagan, describes Bly Manors black and white eighth episode as one of the biggest draws of this particular job.

Sandra Oh Talks Animated Movie Over The Moon And Whether Shell Return To Greys Anatomy For Finale – ETCanada.com

By Rachel West.14 Oct 2020 4:18 PM

Fans shouldnt hold their breath for the return of Cristina Yang on Greys Anatomy.

Sandra Oh tells ET Canada shes not likely to reprise her role on the long-running medical drama anytime soon.

Im extremely grateful that youre asking me that question because if that means that people are still invested and interested in Cristina Yang, a character who I left six years agothen Im really grateful for it, she says, ruling out the reappearance of Dr. Yang in the eventual series finale. There are so many new projects and Im a different person so Id have to say no.'

One of those new projects shes, well, over the moon about is the upcoming Netflix animated feature film Over The Moon.

The movie tells the story of a young Chinese girl who builds a rocket in an attempt to meet a mythical moon goddess. Oh voices one of the films characters, alongside a voice cast that includes Ken Jeong, Kimiko Glenn, John Cho, Margaret Cho, Phillipa Soo and Ruthie Ann Miles.

For the Canadian actress, getting to be a part of a story that focuses on a young girl interested in science and technology was part of the allure.

Im so happy to see this in numerous animated films. That the idea of what it is to be a girl is changing, she tells ET Canada. You know one of the ways that youre going to figure out how to solve your problems is not relying on some boy. Its like youre going to rely on yourself.

Looking back and reflecting on her acting career, Oh says that shes been surprised to find herself connecting through people via her television roles on Greys Anatomy and Killing Eve.

I wanted to connect to people, she says of her early acting goals. You know being a performer its like this deep its almost like sense of purpose youre able to feel a fundamental energy which is connection but I did not realize that it would most be in television, she says, adding that her relationship with television has reached the widest audience possible.

Over The Moon arrives on Netflix on Oct. 23.

Grey’s Anatomy: Will Sandra Oh return as Cristina Yang for last ever episode? – Daily Express

Grey's Anatomy has seen many of its most popular characters say goodbye to the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital over the past few years. The first major farewell was that of Dr Cristina Yang (played by Sandra Oh) who left in 2014. Despite moving onto new projects, Oh is still asked the same question time and time again.

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Grey's Anatomy.

Cristina was Dr Meredith Grey's (Ellen Pompeo) no nonsense best friend who fans greatly admired for her confidence and wit.

She knew her own mind and wasn't afraid to speak it, even when it wasn't always in her favour to do so.

Cristina supported Meredith throughout a lot of the drama until her former fianc suddenly showed up in season 10.

Little did fans know that this was the beginning of the end for Cristina on Grey's Anatomy.

Preston Burke (Isaiah Washington) called off the wedding after he realised she didn't really want to go through with marrying him.

To save her from ending it, Preston stopped the big day himself and left the series.

When he did briefly return in 2014, Preston offered Cristina an opportunity she couldn't refuse.

Preston was moving to Italy with his wife and so said he needed someone to take over his medical facility in Zurich, Switzerland.

With a heavy heart at leaving Meredith behind, Cristina packed up her bags and left for good.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at the time about the decision to make her exit, actress Oh explained: "Creatively, I really feel like I gave it my all, and I feel ready to let her go.

Its such an interesting thing to play a character for so long and to actually get the sense that she wants to be let go as well.

[Cristina] wants to be let go, and I am ready to let her go.

In a recent interview with ET Canada, Oh was once again asked the all important question: Would she return to Grey's Anatomy for its final ever episode?

DON'T MISS...Grey's Anatomy season 17: When will Grey's Anatomy return?[RELEASE DATE]Greys Anatomy season 17: Is Chandra Wilsons exit confirmed?[EXIT]Justin Chambers wife: Who is the Grey's Anatomy actor married to?[CAST]

Oh said: "I wish I had a dollar for the number of times [I've been asked this question].

"It's OK, I'm happy to answer it, I'm extremely grateful you're asking me that question because that means people are still invested in Cristina Yang, a character who I left six years ago.

"[But] there are so many new projects and I'm a different person so I'm going to have to say no."

While fans will be disappointed to hear this, it doesn't seem like Grey's Anatomy is going to be ending any time soon.

In July, cast members Kim Raver, Camilla Luddington and Kevin McKidd all signed three-year contracts for Grey's Anatomy.

This means ABC are already looking to the future of the medical drama.

Creator Shonda Rhimes has previously said though Grey's Anatomy will continue just so long as actress Pompeo wants to still be in it.

As of writing this article, Pompeo hasn't signed up for another series beyond season 17 so the future of Grey's Anatomy really does lie with her.

Grey's Anatomy is available to watch on ABC.

What the anatomy of Bihar election reveals about political muscle in the state – DailyO

Both Bihar and USA will go to poll amidstthe pandemic. The 7.2 crore voters in Bihar will vote in three phases from October 28, 2020. Man by nature is a political animal, as Aristotle put it. He emphasised on the compulsion of politics, which becomes inevitable when Bihar goesto elections.

Nitish Kumar has been the Chief Minister of Bihar for a long time except for a brief period of nine months when Jitan Ram Manjhi became the CM. Along with BJP, Nitish Kumars party JDU has led the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar for 15 years, other than those three years when the Bihar CM parted ways with the BJP over Narendra Modis appointment as Campaign Committee Chief for 2014 General Elections. Nitish has been a popular CM courtesy his social engineering effort where he carved out Mahadalits after he became CM in 2005, and the welfare-oriented socialist-populist schemes that he has been championing ever since he assumed office. But then, he is up against an anti-incumbency of 15 years.

Nitishs ally BJP has always had a decent cadre in Bihar, but their problem is with leadership. The Deputy CM Sushil Modi doesnt inspire confidence and is largely seen as Nitishs prodigy, who prefers to remain status quoist. Another NDA ally, the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) is confined to a few areas in Bihar. With the demise of Ramvilas Paswan, his son and LJP supremo Chirag Paswan faces the challenge to carry forward his fathers limited legacy. Certain social media political enthusiasts might see him as the next CM, but the facts on the ground do not corroborate with their whims. LJP has never performed well outside Vaishali (Tirhut region) barring the 2005 Assembly elections (Chirag Paswan and Mehboob Ali Kaisar are the only two exceptions).

LJP has decided to field its candidates against JDU but not against BJP, which is being termed as clever political manoeuvring. However, lets not remain oblivious to the fact that it took Nitish 20 years to unseat the Yadav warlords of RJD in Bihar. Hence, it would be unrealistic to assume that Chirag could pose any severe threat to Nitish in the upcoming Assembly elections. However, he might get some sympathy votes due to the demise of LJP patriarch Ramvilas Paswan.

Nitish has been a popular CM, courtesy his social engineering efforts and the welfare-oriented socialist-populist schemes. (File photo: Reuters)

The opposition camp of Mahagathbandhan (MGB) has Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) and Congress. Despite the popular belief, Lalu continues to be a key factor in Bihar politics. RJDs vote share in 2019 Lok Sabha election was 15.4 per cent amidst a Modi tsunami. So, in the Assembly elections, Lalu Yadav remains a force to reckon with. His sons Tejpratap and Tejasvi also face a litmus test of filling in their fathers shoes. It remains to be seen if they can pull it off this time.

Going byregional analysis, the Bhojpur region can be divided into two Aara, Buxar on one side and Chhapra, Siwan and Gopalganj on the other side of the Ganges. NDA has a stronghold in the Aara-Buxar region, thanks to the relative urbanisation of this block, while the other side of the Ganga remains an RJD stronghold, given the sheer number of Yadavs who swear by Lalu. Convicted or innocent, in jail or outside, the Yadav strongman has a magical influence on his core voters, which is more evident in the Assembly elections and one has to see this to believe. However, BJP riding high on Modi wave made a huge dent in Yadav vote base in last two Lok Sabha elections. The Magadh region consists of capital Patna, Gaya, Nalanda and Jehanabad. This region has witnessed the significant impact of both the NDA and the MGB. BJP has an edge in Patna, thanks to the Kayastha and Baniya votes. But a careful seat selection by the RJD might swing a sizeable Baniya vote from BJP. Nalanda remains a JDU bastion because of the large number of Kurmi voters. South Bihar consisting of Sasaram, Dumrao, and some parts of Aara and Buxar has been good for the BJP. But RJD isnt too far away here.

Seemanchal consisting of Kishanganj, Katihar, Khagadia, Purnea, Farbisganj and Saharsa is traditionally a bastion of MGB. The considerable Muslim population in this area makes it a tough nut to crack for the NDA, though JDU managed to make a small dent in previous elections. With the entry of Owaisis All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM), Seemanchal has now become a different ball game altogether. Qamrul Hoda is the lone AIMIM MLA from Kishanganj and now with Owaisis decision to field his candidates in 50 seats in Bihar, this looks unfavourable for the MGB. The secular arithmetic might change. Owaisi took strong objection to being alleged as a Vote katua (vote splitter), but even a small percent swing could upset the secular arithmetic in Bihar. If the Muslim population of Seemanchal prefers AIMIM over MGB, it is bound to cause a counter polarisation. The result is advantage NDA.

The Tirhut region comprising Vaishali, Hajipur, Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, Begusarai, Sitamarhi, Khagaria are strongholds of RJD. These are primarily rural areas (except Muzaffarpur) with significant Yadav population. Also, the Rajputs have often sided with the RJD in previous elections as they have preferred to remain in the good books of the incumbent RJD for a long time. Late Raghuvansh Prasad Singh was a Rajput leader for the party and the state RJD unit chief Jagdanand Singh also happens to be a strong Rajput leader. The 2010 Assembly clean sweep by NDA in Tirhut is the only exception. Lastly, the Angika region with the towns of Bhagalpur, Banka and Munger have traditionally favoured BJP. This is because the twin factors of upper caste population and urbanisation are said to be on the right side of BJP.

NDA has one face in Bihar, and that is of Nitish Kumar. However, his charisma has surely abated in past few years. PM Modi continues to remain a crowd puller anywhere in India. However, with an ongoing pandemic, the virtual rallies might not engage the voter with the same effect. Not to forget, this is the first election amidst the pandemic, so it will also measure the anti-incumbency impact of Covid-19. Bihar remains an open house.

Grey’s Anatomy: The Only Episode Title That Isn’t A Song Reference (& Why) – Screen Rant

Every episode title in Grey's Anatomy is a song, except for one, but it was for a very important reason. Here's which episode it is and why.

Greys Anatomy has stood out from other medical dramas for a couple of reasons, and one of its particularities is that every episode title is a song reference, except for one heres which episode it is and why its different. Created by Shonda Rhimes, Greys Anatomy made its debut on ABC in 2005 as a mid-season replacement, but it was so well-received by critics and viewers that it has lived on for over 10 seasons, and shows no signs of stopping soon.

Greys Anatomy follows the lives of surgical interns, residents, and attendings at Seattle Grace Hospital (now Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital) as they do their best to juggle their personal and professional lives, which more often than not end up overlapping. The series is led by Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), who viewers have followed on her journey from intern to head of general surgery. In over a decade, Greys Anatomy has won the audience over and has also stood out from other medical dramas for various reasons, one of those being that every episode title is a song reference.

Related: Grey's Anatomy: What Happened To Alex (& Why He Left)

From the very beginning, Greys Anatomy has borrowed song titles to give its episodes a name. The very first episode is titled A Hard Days Night, like the song byThe Beatles, and was followed by The First Cut Is The Deepest, written by Cat Stevens and performed by various artists over the years. Its a Greys Anatomy tradition that every episode will be titled after a song (another good example is the two-parter bomb storyline titled after R.E.Ms Its The End of the World As We Know It),and there has been only one exception, but it wasnt because the writers ran out of songs that fitted the episode's stories. The episode in question is season 14s 1-800-799-7233, and theres a very powerful and important reason behind this peculiar title.

In that episode, the staff of the hospital was fascinated by the presence of Paul Stadler (Matthew Morrison), a praised general surgeon who also happened to be Jos (Camilla Luddington) abusive ex-husband. Meredith stayed by her side while she and Paul signed the divorce papers so she wouldnt be left alone with him, and Jo later had a chance to talk to his fiance, Jenny, who denied any abuse and refused her help. Still, Jo gave her her card with her phone number on the back in case she needed any help. The episode was originally titled Four Seasons in One Day (a song by Crowded House), but was changed to 1-800-799-7233 as thats the phone number for the National Domestic Violence Hotline. Showrunner Krista Vernoff revealed (via Glamour) that the title change was suggested by Giacomo Gianniotti, who plays Dr. Andrew DeLuca.

‘Grey’s Anatomy’: The Truth Behind the Missing Intro Theme Song – Showbiz Cheat Sheet

ABCs long-running medical drama,Greys Anatomy, is beginning its seventeenth season on Nov. 12, 2020. Diehard fans are begging for creator Shonda Rhimes and showrunner Krista Vernoff to bring back the intro theme song. They want to know why its missing in the first place.

Creator and executive producer Shonda Rhimes remembers fighting with everyone in the editing room over the pilots music forGreys Anatomy.

I put all of that music that you heard in the pilot, she toldBillboard. The guys came in and said, You cant have this music in the show, and they scored the show with this very testosterone-y music that made it sound like an action movie, and the show looked ridiculous.

At that moment, Rhimes recalls she thought the show was over. However, television executive Betsy Beers came to the rescue. She forced them to change everything back to the original music the creator chose.

But [I was] also watching how a show can become a completely different animal with different kinds of music, Rhimes recalls.

If Rhimes took such great care in choosing the music forGreys Anatomy, fans want to know why the intro theme song no longer plays before each episode. The piece Cosy in the Rocket by Psapp used to play while imagery of steamy moments in a hospital flashed across the screen. However, after the early seasons,Greysdropped the theme song and switched to a brief title flash.

I love the intro, mostly because of the nostalgia I have for the early series, one fan wrote onReddit.

Fans pointed out that they loved it when they brought the theme song back for the 300th episode.

The intro was iconic and a really beautifully filmed piece of the show, another fan added. It would be cool if they used the same song and aesthetic but made a new one for the current cast!

The year thatGreys Anatomylost their 26-second intro, so did many other TV shows, includingDesperate HousewivesandHeroes.

Producers feel, rightly or wrongly, that that interruption, if you will, is going to lose viewers, TV historian Tim Brooks toldToday. I think one of the things that has squeezed themes out is this relentless kind of move toward tightening everything, making it go right from joke to joke, from action to action, from shootout to shootout, so that you wont press the dreaded remote control.

He feels those theme songs are a thing of the past, and we wont see network television bringing them back anytime soon.

Grey’s Anatomy Characters Ranked From Most To Least Likely To Die In A Horror Movie – Screen Rant

The characters on Grey's Anatomy are often put in stressful situations, but which ones would survive in an actual horror movie?

What would happen if the medley of characters in the hit ABC medical drama Grey's Anatomy were to become part of a horror movie? In fact, what if the writers decided that the only way to go out with a bang--if they ever decide to end the series, that is,--is to kill off a large number of characters at once, either in a zombie attack or by setting a serial killer loose on the doctors and nurses at Grey Sloan Memorial?

RELATED:Grey's Anatomy 5 Most Likable Characters (& 5 Fans Can't Stand)

Grey's has had a great many characters over the years, so it's impossible to rank all of them. But here's a look at all those who are most likley to get embroiled in a horror movieand die one by one.

Young Levi Schmitt is a comparatively recent addition tothe surgical residents atGrey's. Levi is shy and socially awkward and his character arc till now has been that of self-discovery and coming of age.

Levi would be highly vulnerable if the hospital were to be attacked by zombies or creepy, supernatural creatures or a madman with a hook perhaps. In fact, given that hs is both instantly likable and a bit muddled, he would surely be the first one to go.

Maggie Pierce is the half-sister of the brilliant Meredith Grey. She is kind, a bit low-profile but extremely smart in the sense that she topped her class consistently and became the youngest co-head of the department of cardiothoracic surgery at Grey Sloan Memorial.

However, Maggie's intellectual smartness might not be enough to keep her alive in a dangerous situation. She would most definitely give herself away and die rather early on.

The scatterbrained sister of Derek Shepherd would be without a doubt one of the firstfewto go in a horror movie. Amelia might keep the killer at bay for a while but given her usual string of bad fortune, her luck would run out pretty soon.

RELATED:Schitt's Creek Characters Ranked From Most To Least Likely To Die In A Horror Movie

Amelia may be a remarkable neurosurgeon but in a situation where fate matters more than anything else, it's unlikely that she would survive past the first forty-five to fifty minutes.

Another character likely to die soon in a horror or a slasher movie would be April Kepner. Kepner is sweet, mild and god-fearing and easy bait for a killer or a malevolent spirit.

As shown in the episode, "Sanctuary" in season 6 of Grey'swhere April came face to face with the shooter who was out to get Derek, the young doctor managed to draw the shooter's attention away from herself by talking to him constantly. It's possible that Kepner would succeed in eluding the murderer in a horror movie for a while but then inevitably she would be killed.

Teddy, the co-head of cardiothoracic surgery along with Maggie at Grey Sloan, is smart and sensitive. She would probably also be saddled with two kids, the little boy Owen had adopted and her own little daughter.

Teddy has served as an army doctor which means that she is capable of quick-thinking in stressful circumstances. This might help her stay alive for a while. But sheis also the kind of person who would sacrifice herself to save her children. In a horror movie situation, Teddy's kids would most likely end up being with Meredith after their mother dies.

Andrew DeLuca might be able to evade a killer or a spirit or even zombies for a while. DeLuca has proven himself to be quite sensibleunder certain circumstances, he is also alert and a keen observer.

RELATED:10 Most Realistic Horror Movie Slasher Villains

DeLuca might be able to lead others into safety for a while but then his natural bull in a china shop demeanor would surely surface and come in the way. He would probably try to hold off the killers or the zombies on his own and his heroism would cost him his life.

Another character who would make it until at least the second half of a horror movie until his hero complex might lead to his death is the dashing Atticus Lincoln.

Lincoln is sure to take the lead and guide the others as they maneuver around and stay on the run from a killer in a horror movie. But once again, like DeLuca, Link might try to be a hero while the others run for safety and thus lose his life horribly.

The smart and sensibleJackson Avery might be one of those in a horror movie who make it almost till the end and then dies needlessly, just when the audience thinks that the last body had already dropped.

Avery would be mature and calm in the way he would handle a horror movie situation. He would also lead the others to safety, but despite his sense of responsibility, he has also been shown to be impulsive at times like the time in Grey's he rushed inside a burning ambulance and brought a small child out alive. His last moment impulsiveness might make him one of the last people to die in a horror movie.

Thefeisty Miranda Bailey has been shown to be extremely capable of handling stress and does not collapse easily. It was Bailey whose quick-thinking kept her patient Mary and herself alive during the shootout at the hospital in season 6. Bailey would also have managed to save the life of the intern Charles Percy had the hospital not shut down the elevators.

RELATED:10 Horror Movies That Are About To Get A Remake

In a horror movie, Bailey would keep steady nerves and be one of the least likely to die, if at all. She isin fact likely to be the sole person who would stay alive alongside the heroine till the very end, unless she is the heroine herself.

Without a doubt, Meredith Grey would be the least likely to drop off in a horror movie. She would be scared stiff, she would weep, and might even give up at times. But she would survive.

Like in every horror movie, Meredith would find herself alone or maybe one of only two people alive by the end of the film. She would have some very near-death experiences; after all, Meredith Grey has been throughsome very difficult times in her life that have only made her stronger. Being in that horrifying plane crash in "One Flight Down" at the end of season 8 was rather like being in a horror movie in itself. But in the end, she would make it, possibly with Miranda Bailey being the only other person by her side.

Kelly McCreary Gives Fans a Glimpse into Filming for ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Amid COVID-19 Pandemic – AmoMama

Kelly McCreary of "Grey's Anatomy" gave fans a behind-the-scenes look on the set of the popular show. Due to the coronavirus, there were a plethora of changes made.

On Monday, Kelly McCreary treated loyal fans of "Grey's Anatomy" to an inside look at the new set design amid the coronavirus pandemic. McCreary, 39, has been on the show since 2005.

Her character is the beloved Dr. Maggie Pierece. McCreary's set tour comes courtesy of "Good Morning America," but was filmed by the actress herself with her iPad. The clip is found below.

THREE COVID TESTS WEEKLY

In the nearly five-minute clip, McCreary begins by sharing visuals of her getting tested for COVID-19. The test is done three times a week for the cast and crew. It is just the start of the safety measures that are in place.

McCreary next walks outside and reveals that she is filming on her iPad, which doubles as her script. Thisis because they have gone paperless to reduce the number of items being exchanged.

A QUIET HAIR AND MAKEUP

The actress next gets into hair and makeup. There is no talking allowed in the makeup room to limit the spread of potential COVID-infused germs. The makeup artists aredonned in masks.

For her hair, McCreary puts on her mask once more masks are only removed during filming and makeup and sits in a station which is separated by plexiglass from other stations.

The stylist has sanitized the chair and covers McCreary in a plastic garb. Elsewhere, McCreary's costume reaches her in a hazmat suit, straight from the dryer. At the day's end, she puts it into a bin so no one has to touch it.

THE ZONED OUT GREEN ROOM

McCreary also showcased a green room where the actors hang out in-between scenes. A sign on the wall reads, "Live. Laugh. Distance." And there are chairs separated into zones for social distancing.

Not only is "Grey's Anatomy" seemingly taking all the steps necessary to have a safe environment for filming, but they will also be addressing the pandemic in the new season.

THE SHOW'S RESPONSIBILITY

Executive producer Krista Vernoff spoke on it in July. At first, Vernoff said they would not address COVID-19 because she figured people had "fatigued" of the topic. Co-exec producer, Lynne E Litt, convinced her otherwise.

"I feel like our show has an opportunity and a responsibility to tell some of those stories," Vernoffsaid, referring to the stories they had listened to from real frontline healthcare workers who were in the midst of the crisis.

WHAT VIEWERS CAN EXPECT

The COVID-19 episode will take place weeks into the pandemic and is set to feature footage from back in March when the show cut filming due to the crisis. Filming resumed back in early September.

Earlier this month, Vernoff noted that the "feeling" of the show changed due to the necessary safety measures. Things moved slower, she said. The season premiere will air on November 12.

We at AmoMama do our best to give you the most updated news regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, but the situation is constantly changing. We encourage readers to refer to the online updates from CD, WHO, or Local Health Departments to stay updated. Take care!
