The time has come for another daughter of Ellis Grey to bid farewell to the halls of Grey Sloan Memorial. For the most part, Maggie Pierce gets out of Seattle unscathed. Sure, there were some disastrous romances, some surgeries gone wrong, and the searing memory of having to watch her adoptive mother die of breast cancer, all that jazz. But Maggie never really had an actual near-death experience, and thats a big deal for someone who has spent nearly a decade at the place formerly known as Seattle Grace Mercy Death. When Maggie arrived at Grey Sloan nine seasons ago, she came looking for answers about the birth mother she never knew. She got a crash course in Ellis Grey thanks to her sister, Meredith, and her (surprise!) birth father, Richard Webber, and Maggies ties to the iconic surgeon have been woven throughout her Greys story. It feels only right to circle back to Ellis Grey as Maggie departs.

On her last day of work before heading off to Chicago to save lives by way of cutting-edge cardio research, Maggie gets called onto a case with a patient, Nola, who has a massive tumor on her heart. The tumor has been declared inoperable by several other heart surgeons but not by Maggie Pierce. Shes excited by how complicated and challenging this tumor is. Maggie gets off on surgery, we know this. We love this. Its not long before she realizes shes going to need a partner in the OR to pull this off, and she asks Winston for the assist. The tumor is in the shape of a heart, which I guess is supposed to be symbolic of Maggie and Winstons flailing marriage they are cutting out a toxic heart or whatever. Who cares? In the OR, these two are great together. Theres no yelling about whos a coward and who isnt or who respects whom or who is emotionally dead inside. Theres just the work. And the work is perfect. In fact, its so perfect and Maggie and Winston are so hyped up after the successful operation that they immediately jump into bed together. I dont know, guys, every time Ive been at a hospital, horny is the absolute last thing Ive felt, but I guess Im not a doctor. These two are so horned up! Its honestly kind of lovely to see.

Their truce doesnt last long. Despite feeling encouraged by how well they work together and how obvious it is that they both still love each other, its clear the next morning that Maggie and Winston want different things. Maggie wants Winston to move to Chicago with her. Shes inspired by him and challenged by him and thinks that, with a little more therapy, they could figure things out while she saves the world one heart at a time. Winston wants Maggie to stay and fight for their relationship in Seattle. He feels hes finally earning respect and building a career for himself at Grey Sloan. He doesnt want to yet again get a job simply because Maggie asks a hospital to give him one. Chicago is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, she says. There will be other opportunities because Maggie is a genius, he says. Then Winston really goes for the jugular when he talks about how he has to actively fight against becoming his father its why he prides himself on how steady and committed he is and how Maggie needs to do the same when it comes to Ellis Grey. She needs to actively fight against being exactly like Ellis.

It takes Maggie some time and multiple conversations with other people to process what Winston is saying. Is he calling her out for being ambitious and putting her career first? Is he saying shes coldhearted? Is it all of the above? Thanks to Amelia, Maggie realizes that ambition isnt necessarily a bad thing and that her work is allowed to make her happy. Thanks to Catherine, she is reminded that shes anything but coldhearted her life is full of family and friendship and love. Thanks to a patient dealing with a breast-cancer diagnosis, Maggie remembers her adoptive mother and the way she began living her most authentic life only when it was too late. Meanwhile, Winstons getting a reminder of his own: There are some post-op complications with Nola that he handles on his own while teaching Jules a thing or two, and he is reminded how much he loves what hes building at Grey Sloan.

All of this is to say that, in the end, Maggie and Winston are resolute in their decisions. They love each other, but its not enough. So Maggie Pierce will be heading to Chicago alone to follow her greatest love: her work in cardiothoracics. Dear Lord, she and Cristina Yang should really start texting or something. Maggie has a sweet good-bye with Webber, who is very concerned shes going to forget him even though theyve been in each others lives for a decade. Sir, calm down! As a parting gift, he gives her a business-card holder that is a little replica of the bench they were sitting on when he realized he was her father. It is a gift both patently ridiculous and also kind of endearing? Like, just imagine this man searching for tiny benches online. Wild!

Maggie takes her tiny bench, gives Webber a hug, and eventually makes her way to the elevator. Ah, for Maggies final parting gift, Greys Anatomy has bestowed upon her an Elevator Moment. Maggies leaving with the knowledge that, yes, she is like Ellis Grey in many ways, but she is also a little bit like her birth father, she is very much like the mother who raised her, and, most important, she is her own woman. It feels right that during her final trip down in the elevator she should be flanked by both of her mothers. And thats all she wrote for Maggie Pierce. I mean, shell supposedly be back for the season finale, but you know what I mean.

Maggie and Winston arent the only couple to officially call it quits in this double episode. Just as quickly as Kai arrives in Seattle, they leave once again, this time for a huge career opportunity in London. Okay, so it isnt that quick. The whole thing is full of angst (on Amelias end) and tears (on Amelias end) and anger (I think you get this by now) because Amelia cannot do anything without a truckload of angst and tears and anger. Good on her; at least shes self-aware enough to know that when people leave her excuse me, abandon her like Meredith and Maggie and now Kai, she spirals and picks fights and loses the ability to have a rational thought. Unfortunately, that self-awareness doesnt stop her from doing those exact things when Kai drops the London bomb.

Sure, theres a lot of change in Amelias life right now, but you really have to feel for Kai. Theyre right to point out that Amelia has made this entire thing about herself. Not once did she stop to congratulate Kai on this major step forward in their career. Kai tells her the two of them are just in completely different phases of their lives. This isnt working, and Kais leaving for London offers the opportunity for a nice, clean break. Kai and Amelias relationship was severely underdeveloped and got lost in the character-overload shuffle of the past two seasons of Greys, so perhaps theyll revisit this pairing down the road. But for now, prepare yourselves: You know the queen of spirals is going to be doing what she does best.

Just as Link decides hes finally going to tell Jo hes in love with her inspired by an impassioned speech from Owen, no less! she learns that Luna has progressive hearing loss. Link tries to be there for Jo because theyre a little family, its undeniable, but she resents his role as cheerleader. Jos not ready to look for silver linings or assurances that theyll figure it all out. Shes still processing what this means. It leaves the two of them in an awkward place. The Link and Jo Couple Watch marches on.

While Schmitt is stressed about picking a specialty, he winds up with a teen patient whos missing his bar mitzvah because of complications with colitis. Schmitt bonds with Grayson and winds up throwing him a hospital bar mitzvah alongside his zayde, who never got one. Its very cute! Afterward, Webbers like, Uh, son, you should go into peds. And so it is!

Baileys doxing has only gotten worse: She gets 248 calls from unknown numbers in one day, and eventually one of them sends her a picture of Tuck at school. Finally, she agrees with Ben that she needs to take the whole thing more seriously. She changes her phone number and moves her family into a rental for a little while.

As predicted, Mikas taking on shifts at Joes has wreaked havoc on her surgical internship: She misses out on a major surgery because she oversleeps. Kwan takes her place and she vows to make him pay, but we all know this is mostly her fault. Owen tells her to get her shit together OR ELSE.

Anyone else alarmed by Catherines repeatedly telling Webber that all of her scans and tests are routine and normal and everything is totally fine? Is Catherine Fox dying this season, y/n?

Okay, fine, I obviously am crushing on resident Sad Boy Lucas, but what do you want from me? Im a mortal woman, and hes over there holding little Prus hand!

Simone swears shes only stressed out about the wedding part and not the marriage part as Jules makes her aversion to marriage known, but is this a lady doth protest too much situation? Like, theres no way Simone is marrying this clown Trey at the end of the season, right? Give me a runaway bride, or give me death!!

Outgoing Grey’s Anatomy Boss Reflects On The ABC Show Having Genuinely Helped Save People’s Lives – CinemaBlend

Greys Anatomy is pretty much a cultural touchstone at this point, as the show has amassed quite a following over its 19 seasons. Fans tune into ABC faithfully to see what's going on with the staff of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. The series is now looking towards its historic 20th season, though it'll be doing so without a familiar face. Longtime showrunner Krista Vernoff is officially set to exit after the end of Season 19. With that, the outgoing boss opened up about being part of the series and how it's literally saved lives.

Medical dramas, which involve fictional characters, utilize medical jargon and life-saving procedures in accurate ways. This helps to add a layer of authenticity to the proceedings. As Krista Vernoff prepares to depart the series for a second time, she spoke to TVLine about the impact the ABC drama has had by revealing the types of fan letters she and her colleagues receive:

Greys Anatomy is such an extraordinary platform, such an extraordinary microphone. Its in hundreds of territories worldwide, and it has a very real impact on hearts and minds, and sometimes it literally saves lives. We get letters from people [that say], I was able to save the life of my baby because of what I saw on Greys Anatomy. I was able to save my brother who was drowning because I saw CPR on Greys Anatomy. We get these letters that I have full body chills as I talk about it and so Im proud of it all. If I say any more, Ill start to cry.

Its pretty remarkable to know that the series has helped so many people in such profound ways. The series has featured some intense storylines over the course of its run, so it's understandable that folks would've picked up a few things. Krista Vernoff deserves a lot of credit for her the guidance. (She even oversaw Grey's exhausting pandemic storyline.)

I has to be nothing short of profound for someone to hear that a show you work on is actually helping people. Who says you can't learn anything important by watching scripted TV shows, right? It wouldn't be surprising if plenty of people have decided to enter the medical field due to watching the series as well.

Though the show is incredibly helpful, we do have to remember that at the end of the day, not everything is going to be 100% accurate. The producers aren't always going to have things totally on point when it comes Greys surgery scenes, for example. Still, the effort that everyone puts in is much appreciated.

Meanwhile, Krista Vernoffs exit as showrunner from Greys Anatomy marks the latest departure for the long-running medical drama. Fans just said goodbye to Kelly McCrearys Maggie Pierce and also Ellen Pompeos Meredith Grey earlier this year. Though Pompeo will be returning for the Season 19 finale, and she has still been providing the voiceovers. This is clearly a period of transition for the show, one that sees a number of stars joining and exiting the program. But as things change behind the scenes, let's hope that audiences are able to continue pulling invaluable information from this lifesaver of a show.

Grey’s Anatomy Season 19 Gave Maggie The Sendoff Episode She Deserved – Screen Rant

Greys Anatomy season 19, episodes 14 and 15, which aired as a two-hour event, was Maggies last as a series regular after almost 10 seasons, and it was just what she deserved. Kelly McCrearys exit was announced about a month before the episodes aired, making her the second main cast member to leave the series in Greys Anatomy season 19 after Ellen Pompeo left in the winter premiere. Both McCreary and Pompeo will return for the Greys Anatomy season 19 finale, so viewers havent seen the last of Maggie, but it was a great tribute to her character as she left Seattle and Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.

Maggie made her first appearance in the Greys Anatomy season 10 finale before joining the main cast in season 11 as Grey Sloans new head of cardiothoracic surgery following Cristinas exit. In her first episode, it was revealed that she was the child of Ellis Grey and Richard Webber, though she was given up for adoption by Ellis and Richard never knew of her existence, which was a big plot twist that led to some special and interesting relationships. With both Meredith and Maggie having left Seattle, there are no more Greys, biological or otherwise, on Greys Anatomy, but Maggie was luckily given the sendoff she deserved.

While Pompeos farewell episode was slammed by longtime viewers, McCrearys did her and the character of Maggie justice by centering her and her best qualities. Greys Anatomy season 19 has seen Maggie struggle with her ambition, particularly how it affected her marriage with Winston, who felt as though she didnt respect him as a doctor and always put her career above their relationship. This struggle continued in Maggies sendoff episode, especially because Winston compared her to Ellis, which is not often considered a compliment due to her reputation as distant, cold, and even cruel.

However, while Maggie is not perfect, she inherited Elliss best qualities, the ones that made her a world-renowned surgeon: her ambition and her commitment to saving lives. Maggie has often been compared to Cristina due to both being cardio surgeons and Maggie being her replacement at Grey Sloan. Both of them have been portrayed as highly ambitious women who will put their careers above all else, for better or worse, and have been criticized and celebrated for it. In her final episode, Maggies ambition was highlighted and honored as one of the traits that made her special and a great doctor.

Throughout Greys Anatomys 19 seasons, there have been many character exits and sendoffs, though not every character has been able to leave on good terms, let alone their own terms. While people in Maggies life had initially tried to convince her not to leave Seattle to work on her research in Chicago, she stood her ground, knowing how great of an opportunity it was not just in the advancement of her career, but to help save many lives. Maggie leaving Greys Anatomy was her own choice, and she is leaving for bigger and better things that could revolutionize cardiothoracic surgery as Ellis did with general surgery.

Maggie & Winston Actually Had A Happy Ending – Screen Rant

Maggie and Winston went their separate ways in her Greys Anatomy sendoff episode, but it was actually a happy ending for the couple, whod been fighting all season. Kelly McCrearys Greys Anatomy exit, announced a month before her last episode as a series regular aired, sparked questions about whether Winston would be moving to Chicago with Maggie. Greys Anatomy season 19 has been a hard one for Maggie and Winston, who married in the season 17 finale. Maggie leaving Winston behind in Seattle may not seem like a happy ending on the surface, but it was the best ending for each of them in Greys Anatomy.

Winston first made his appearance on Greys Anatomy in season 16, though his and Maggies history preceded her time on the series, having met when he was a resident and she was an attending at Tufts. However, after their reunion, it wasnt exactly smooth sailing as Winston lived in Boston while Maggie worked at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital in Seattle during the pandemic. Winston eventually moved to Seattle to be with Maggie and work as a cardiothoracic attending at Grey Sloan, and while this was good for their relationship at the start, it didnt take long for issues to arise.

The biggest problem in Maggie and Winstons relationship has been present from the start: Maggie is Winstons boss. Greys Anatomy has had plenty of relationships in which there was a power imbalance in the workplace, from Burke and Cristina to Derek and Meredith to Jo and Alex. However, it is an especially unique power imbalance because, due to her genius, Maggie is actually younger than Winston, something he initially admired about her when he first developed a crush on her at Tufts. Traditionally, theyd be on the same level, but Maggie is Grey Sloans head of cardio.

This problem was exacerbated in Greys Anatomy season 19 as Winston confronted Maggie for her treatment of him at work as if he wasnt an accomplished surgeon in his own right. He eventually proposed switching specialties so Maggie wouldnt be his boss, but that would have been a significant sacrifice in his career. Winston also asked Maggie to stay in Seattle and turn down her opportunity in Chicago, and if she had, it would have been a major sacrifice in her career. However, Maggie going to Chicago and Winston staying in Seattle meant neither had to sacrifice their careers, making it a happy ending.

For multiple episodes in Greys Anatomy season 19, Winston has made Maggie feel a sense of guilt about her ambition. While Maggies ambition did have some adverse effects on their working relationship, it is also part of what made Winston fall for her in the first place. Maggie refused to apologize for her ambition and even criticized Winston for not having enough of it. While Winston seemed ready to give up cardio for Maggie, it was something she would never have done, and she wasnt about to let him do it either.

Maggies Greys Anatomy sendoff episode celebrated her ambition rather than villainizing her for it. Maggie is one of Ellis Greys daughters, and while Ellis is notoriously cold, Maggie got the best parts of her, just as Meredith did, and both of them put their careers and needs first in choosing to leave Seattle. Maggie tried to save her relationship with Winston, but she also knew that Chicago was too good of an opportunity to give up, and Winston knew the same about Seattle for him. Maggie leaving showcased her ambition, and Winston staying showed his respect for Maggie as well as his ambition.

The promo video for Greys Anatomy season 19, episode 16, featured a scene in which Amelia told Winston that he let [his] ego destroy what was once true love. While his ego might have played a part in earlier troubles in their relationship, it also allowed them to have a happy ending. Amelia confused ambition for ego in the same way that people often misconstrue Maggies, as him not following her to Chicago was the right choice for himself and his career.

If Winston had followed Maggie to Chicago, their problems would have followed them there. Winston would have been going to Chicago without a job lined up, something he pointed out, and he didnt want to be given a job just because he was Maggies husband. Staying in Seattle allows Winston to prove himself as a cardio surgeon without being under the shadow Maggie casts in their working relationship. Maggie is returning for the Greys Anatomy season 19 finale, which could offer her and Winston more closure, but they have their happy ending for now.

The Anatomy of an Insider Threat – Infosecurity Magazine

Insider threats are on the rise. The World Economic Forum namedmalicious insider activityone of the top three concerns for cyber leaders. This supports what many cybersecurity and information governance experts have long expressed that internal threats are just as critical as external ones. Unfortunately, organizations are often less prepared to mitigate insider threats than they are for the more prominent, publicized external variety.

Insider threats occur from within the enterprise, either through unintentional mistakes or due to malicious insiders looking to steal or leak corporate data for a personal agenda.

Inadvertent threats can occur when, for example, employees make a mistake such as missending an email, misconfiguring a system, or otherwise failing to keep up with a companys security requirements.Insider threat incidents rose 44% between 2020 and 2022and reportedly cost more than US$15 million per incident.

In contrast, malicious insiders deliberately create threats. For example, our teams encountered a recent case at a fund management organization where an employee was caught stealing intellectual property. In this case, the employee wasnt sending data to a personal account or device but rather sharing and leveraging the organizations proprietary trading strategies to secure a position at a competing firm.

The organization had comprehensive security controls in place; as such, the malicious activity was detected when the employee triggered an internal warning system by printing a sensitive document. A lengthy investigation followed to uncover the full extent of the employees activities and the scale of exposed IP. This was particularly challenging because investigators were not looking for a specific file or document. Ultimately, the investigation successfully recovered the information from the employees systems, personal devices and the competitors systems.

The frequency of malicious internal attacks is increasing 67% of organizations reportedbetween 21 and 40 incidents per year in 2022, a 60% increase in frequency reported the previous year. Fortunately, there are behavioral and contextual warning signs that security, governance and legal teams can watch for. These include:

So, how can an organization best address this reality? Organizations should begin withrobust information governance, privacy and security programs supported by executive leadership and the board. Programs must be grounded in a risk-based approach and built into the foundation of systems and workflows. Companies should train employees to understand the potential risk in their actions, as well as implement monitoring and response capabilities so data breach and incident response procedures are established and maintained regularly.

Additional questions organizations should ask to determine their resilience against insider threats include:

Its impossible for prevention mechanisms to perform at 100% thats why it is critical to put systems in place that identify threats and that can be activated immediately once a breach, data loss or IP theft incident has occurred. Everyone within the organization has a role to play and, therefore, must be equipped with the training, tools and resources needed to help keep company information safe. People are an organizations greatest insider threat risk, but with proper guidance and investment, they can also become an integral defense mechanism.

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ cast poses for group photo at final table read for season 19 – ABC News

WATCH: Exclusive look at Meredith Grey's exit on 'Grey's Anatomy'

Outgoing "Grey's Anatomy" showrunner Krista Vernoff took fans behind the scenes on Tuesday for one of the show's most monumental moments.

Vernoff shared a group photo with many members of the main cast and a few others to mark the final table read for season 19, their first in-person table read in three years and her final table read as showrunner.

"What a gift this job has been," she wrote in the caption. "I am forever grateful for this ridiculously talented cast, this astonishing crew, these brilliant writers. Dreams DO come true. I will never forget the gratitude I felt today, and the love."

In the photo, Vernoff is hiding in the back row toward the center, standing behind series creator Shonda Rhimes. Posing in the front row nearly dead center kneeling on the floor is the show's incoming showrunner, Meg Marinis.

Main cast members pictured in the photo include Chandra Wilson and James Pickens Jr. -- the final two remaining original cast members -- as well as Kevin McKidd, Camilla Luddington, Kelly McCreary, Kim Raver, Jake Borelli, Chris Carmack, Anthony Hill and Scott Speedman.

Also present are newcomers Alexis Floyd, Harry Shum Jr., Adelaide Kane, Midori Francis and Niko Terho, who play the newest class of interns at Grey Sloan.

Perhaps the most notable person present is Ellen Pompeo, whose titular Meredith Grey departed Seattle for Boston earlier this season. This marked Pompeo's exit as a series regular, though she is still an executive producer and lends her voice to the now-iconic voiceovers the show is famous for.

Missing from the group shot is Caterina Scorsone -- and fans definitely took notice.

Vernoff replied to one of the fans in her comments to explain Scorsone's absence was due to her being sick that day, saying, "Caterina was under the weather and because we were unmasked today, she was the wonderful community member she always is and stayed home."

The season 19 finale of "Grey's Anatomy" -- a two-hour event -- will air May 18 at 9/8c.

Addison Montgomery Is Still One of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’s Best Characters – Collider

Editor's Note: The following contains minor spoilers for Season 19 of Grey's Anatomy

When Addison (Kate Walsh) first strolled into Seattle Grace Hospital right before the credits rolled on the Grey's Anatomy Season 1 finale, there was no telling what kind of ride audiences were in for. She introduced herself as Addison Shepherd, AKA Dereks (Patrick Dempsey) estranged wife, and seemed to spell nothing but trouble. However, there was no way of knowing just how much of an impact she would go on to have on the show. She was more than a roadblock for Derek and Merediths (Ellen Pompeo) relationship, and she was definitely more than just Dereks wife. She held her own and was a strong, capable character that was so layered. She may have left Grey's Anatomy as a series regular in the shows third season but even with every new character that has come and gone, Addisons mark on the show has remained strong, and without her, it wouldnt be what it is today.

Addisons joining of the Seattle Grace crew took a bit of convincing. She and Derek were on the outs (he called her Satan!) ,and she had a whole life back in New York. But Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.) was determined to keep her around, and he got his way, even if she did primarily agree to stay in an attempt to save her marriage with Derek. Her becoming a regular would spell drama for both Meredith and Derek, but while that may have been her original role, she quickly proved that there was much more to her than just the ring on her finger that made her Mrs. Shepherd.

Not only was Addison a phenomenal doctor (and one of the foremost neonatal surgeons in the country) but she also had a lot of heart to her that just brought so much to her character. She fought hard for her marriage, even when it felt hopeless, even when she knew Derek had eyes for Meredith. She cared immensely for her patients and did everything she could for them. And she was an incredible mentor to those around her, most notably Alex Karev (Justin Chambers.) Without her, Alex likely would have stayed his cold, grumpy, pompous self with little remorse for those around him. She forced him onto her service as punishment, but he actually grew to respect it, and thanks to her found a real appreciation and interest in neonatal surgery. Her time as a main character in Grey's Anatomy may have been brief, but she left an impact.

This is why she scored her own spin-off, Private Practice, in which she relocated to L.A and took a job offer from her friend Naomi (Audra McDonald) to join her practice. One of Shonda Rhimes' best TV shows and a worthy spin-off, Private Practice peeled back even more of Addisons layers and allowed viewers to know her on an even deeper level, learning that she was much more fragile and damaged than she ever let on. Her arc was beautiful as she grew into herself and put together her missing pieces. She went on to run the practice and also became a mother to Henry through adoption after struggling with fertility issues. Her fertility issues were one of the biggest and most poignant pieces of the show and her character, and we watched as she continuously struggled through the difficulties of IVF, adoption, and everything in between before it eventually worked out for her. This arc went on to become one of the most poignant storylines and resonated with so many viewers of the show, giving it a major leg up in terms of storytelling.

But there was another storyline that was pivotal, and that was Amelias (Caterina Scorsone) battle with addiction. Amelia had consistently been described as the most reckless of the Shepherd siblings, dating back to when she witnessed her fathers murder as a child. Despite being clean for a while, she unfortunately relapsed during Private Practices run after joining the practice and becoming a part of the surgical route there. The team of doctors rallied around her and staged an intervention for her, with Addison at the front lines of it, still seeing Amelia as a little sister despite her divorce from Derek. Its a tough-to-watch stretch of episodes, but seeing Amelia come out on top of it was all worth it, and the friendship she and Addison built remains one of the sweetest in the show.

In Greys Anatomys most recent seasons, it has been tackling more real-world issues, such as covid-19 and most recently abortion bans. It's the latter of the two which has Addison making more frequent guest appearances on the show. Before Season 18, her most recent appearance was all the way back in Season 8s musical episode, meaning it had been about 10 years since Addison had last visited and yet it felt like she had never left.

She first made her comeback at Grey Sloan in Season 18, coming up with a research project on uterine transplants. It was during it that we finally saw her reaction to Dereks death, as well as when she met him and Merediths children. It was a relatively lowkey arc for her, but it showed that her prowess for her career hadnt faltered, and it also let her vulnerable side shine through again as she revealed how hard the pandemic had been on her.

In the current season, Grey's Anatomy is continuing its foray into real-world issues and has given Addison a heroic arc as she works on the front lines and fights for the right to choose. She reveals that shes been threatened, stalked, and doxxed as shes set out to help women seek proper and healthy abortion care. She never gives up and thats perhaps one of the most alluring parts of her character. Shes resilient and shes a fighter, and she will stand up for herself and her patients.

Her impact and legacy are long-standing among the halls of Grey-Sloan Memorial, even if she only pops in sporadically, and theres something to be said for that. Even over 15 years after her final appearance as a main character, shes just as prominent as ever, and will forever remain one of Grey's Anatomys most valuable players.

Before Chris Horvath jumped on board for "Song Beneath the Song," the executives over at ABC had vehemently opposed any suggestion of a "Grey's" musical. In fact, then-showrunner Shonda Rhimes had planned to have a "Grey's" musical since the show's premiere but had never made any headway with the ABC suits. However, once Chris Horvath became involved, it became obvious that he would bring style and substance to the proceedings.

In addition to working on music for "Erin Brockovich" and "National Lampoon's Gold Diggers," Horvath had composed themes for Toon Disney, as well as multiple brands. He had also worked on music for "Alias" and "Samantha Who." At various points in his career, he also worked on themes for the NBA, NFL, and Nascar, and arranged songs for the "Voice."

Muchof this background information was divulged in a behind-the-scenes clip for "Grey's Anatomy" Season 7; however, the connection between "Grey's Anatomy" and "Scrubs" remains a surprising one. Still, at least fans know whom to thank now.
