Is There a Greys Anatomy Season 20 Episode 11 Release Date or Part 2? - ComingSoon.net
This article contains spoilers for the season finale of Station 19.
In the age of shared universes in television and film, Greys Anatomy was one of the first non-superhero shows to spring multiple spin-offs.
Station 19 followed Private Practice as the second spin-off to the medical show, but pivoted towards a different group of first responders firefighters. It premiered in 2018, featuring a Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital mainstay as a lead after Ben Warren decided it was time for a career change.
Multiple other Greys characters have popped up on its sister show over the years, but it concluded its run as the finale of its seventh season aired on ABC on May 30, 2024.
During Krista Vernoffs run as the showrunner of both Greys Anatomy and Station 19 between 2019 and 2023, the two shows were closely linked and even their schedules were determined to facilitate crossovers. Station 19 aired at 8 PM followed by Greys an hour later, so that the doctors could take over from the first responder firefighters chronologically and seamlessly when needed.
In the lead-up to Station 19s last season that all changed. ABC moved the spin-off show to a 10 PM time slot, which meant it came after Greys Anatomy, and the result was only a singular crossover episode that concluded with Ben changing careers again and deciding to finish his surgical residency at the Seattle hospital.
The change, which was announced in November 2023, felt like a bad omen for the future of Station 19 a prediction that was eventually confirmed when ABC revealed it would not be renewing the show for a new season a month later. During that same year, the network saved the fellow procedural drama 9-1-1 which had been canceled by Fox, giving it a seventh season (and recently, an eighth) as well as Station 19s 8 PM time slot, preceding Greys Anatomy (which was of course renewed for another season). Talk about backstabbing.

Now that Season 20 of Greys Anatomy has come to an end, fans are beginning to look ahead to next year. Season 21 is going to look a little different, however, and there will be multiple changes to the cast. Keep reading to see whos leaving Greys Anatomy after Season 20 and whos coming back.
While the cast for next season of Greys Anatomy has not been officially confirmed, we know that at least two cast members are exiting the medical drama and will not be back for Season 21. In early May 2024, news broke that Jake Borelli, who has starred as the dorky but lovable Dr. Levi Schmitt since Season 14, had been let go by ABC. The networks decision was reportedly a financial one, with sources telling our sister site Deadline that the shows renewal came with a significant budget cut amid its decline in linear ratings. Borelli will, however, appear in a few episodes of Season 21 to wrap Schmitts storyline.
In addition to Borelli, newcomer Midori Francis will be departing the series at the end of this season. The actress came on board in Season 19 as Dr. Mika Yasuda, one of five new surgical interns at Grey Sloan Memorial. Its unclear why she is leaving so soon, but Deadline reported that her exit was an amicable decision. Francis is still in negotiations to appear in a few episodes of Season 21 as well.

As for the rest of the cast, TVLine reported that the contracts for nearly every veteran are up after this season and will need to be re-negotiated. This includes OG cast members Chandra Wilson, who plays Dr. Miranda Bailey, and James Pickens Jr., who portrays Dr. Richard Webber. Wilson will most likely return, considering she is also an executive producer, and Pickens Jr. doesnt appear to be going anywhere, either. Theyll probably wheel me out in a wheelchair, he quipped during an April 2023 interview with Entertainment Tonight. Kevin McKidd, Kim Raver, Caterina Scorsone and Camilla Luddingtonsfutures on the show remain up in the air, however, which is also the case for several other cast members. With budget cuts looming, the network might axe other doctors from Schmitt and Yasudas respective resident classes, including Schmitts best friend Dr. Tayrn Helm (Jaicy Elliot), whos storylines often involve Schmitt. Niko Tehros future is also unclear, as his character, Dr. Lucas Adams, received a job offer in Chicago during the penultimate episode. Its unclear if Chris Carmack, who plays Dr. Atticus Link Lincoln, and Season 20 newcomer Natalie Morales, who plays Dr. Monica Beltran, are returning as well.
Ellen Pompeo, who stars as Dr. Meredith Grey, exited the show as a series regular in Season 19 but has continued to recur and provide each episodes voiceovers. Season 21 should be no different, so fans can at least expect to see more of Meredith.
While the show is losing some beloved characters, they might be getting a few back now that Station 19 is ending. Several fans have theorized that Ben Warren (Jason George), Dr. Miranda Baileys husband and a firefighter at Station 19, will return to surgery at Grey Sloan Memorial after the series finale of the spin-off. This might also be the case for Dr. Carina DeLuca (Stefania Spampinato) and her wife, firefighter Maya Bishop (Danielle Savre).
Additionally, new showrunner Meg Marinis, who took over for Krista Vernoff at the end of Season 19, will be staying on for her second season. Marinis has been withGreys Anatomy since Season 3, working her way up from a writers PA to an executive producer, and now, the head position.
Greys Anatomy is available to stream on Hulu.

Who's Leaving Grey's Anatomy After Season 20? Who's Coming Back in 2025? - Soaps.com
George recurred and later starred on 'Grey's Anatomy' as Ben Warren from Seasons 6-14 until he departed for 'Station 19.'
Station 19 may be done, but Jason George could be sticking around as Ben Warren. The Grey's Anatomy spinoff has officially come to an end on ABC after seven seasons, and as the episode looked towards the future, it also looked toward what might soon be the present. George's doctor-turned-firefighter spoke to Jaina Lee Ortiz's Andy about retiring as a firefighter and going back to being a doctor.
With Grey's returning this fall for Season 21, a couple of doctors exiting, and a few more possibly leaving as well, could this mean that Ben is returning to his one true calling at Grey Sloan? Deadline reports that while sources say there is no deal at the moment and it's unclear the capacity that George would appear on Grey's, "talks are ongoing." George initially joined the medical drama in Season 6 as an anesthesiologist before Ben ultimately decided to do a surgical residency.
After being bumped up from recurring to series regular in Season 12, George left in Season 14 after Ben made yet another career move when he decided to become a firefighter. That move is what jumpstarted Station 19 and created a whole new show with plenty of characters that fans have fallen in love with. George has made frequent appearances on Grey's thanks to crossovers, and now that it's come full circle with him choosing to finish his surgical residency, it might just about time for him to return full-time.
Even though Station 19 is done, it can still be expected that Station 19 characters will still pop up on Grey's Anatomy every once in a while, whether as series regulars or recurring. Of course, Jason George has the best chance of appearing on Grey's and possibly even as a series regular once again. At the very least, if George doesn't fully return to Grey's Anatomy, there's a good chance fans will still see Ben Warren from time to time.
Along with George, Stefani Spampinato also has a good chance of returning to Grey's as Dr. Carina DeLuca, who works at Grey Sloan. Like George, nothing is confirmed for Spampinato, but you never know what could happen. It is going to be hard to not see the entire Station 19 crew this fall, and with fans continuing their efforts to save Station 19, it's always a possibility the crew will be seen once again, whether on Grey's Anatomy or the spinoff.

If you want to kick a crypto founder or VC into fight or flight mode, ask him about his low float, high fully diluted valuation (FDV) token launch.
The online part of the crypto world has been blaming these sorts of token launches where the amount of initially available tokens is small, and the total supply is large on lackluster returns that purportedly benefit insiders for some newly-circulating coins. Boiled down, some allege that inflated FDVs are making it difficult for retail investors to capture any upside.
One chart has been making the rounds showing a large majority of new Binance listings seeing price declines in recent months.
The prodigious crypto poster cobie opined on the subject at length, concluding that new token launches are uninvestable because of the privatization of price discovery and unhealthy inflated valuations from VC markets that ignore supply and demand.
In the VC corner, Dragonfly managing partner Haseeb Qureshi argued that new token prices are actually down because risky assets became generally less attractive when instability flared up in the Middle East.
In Solana land, where token launches have been a big driver of DeFi activity in recent months, its unclear how much of a problem this all is. Jito and Jupiters tokens were among the rare few to appreciate in price following their Binance listing despite having FDVs in the billions, per CoinGecko. Still, the Solana ecosystem token PYTH declined post its early February listing, per the aforementioned chart.
I spoke with David Lu, core contributor at Drift Labs, about the perpetuals DEXs airdrop from last week. DRIFT launched with 17% of its total supply circulating, Lu said, adding that many tokens launch with closer to 10% in circulation.
Lu said this put Drifts community on a more level playing field with insiders.
The high FDV just benefits VCs and insiders and really hurts people because your real users cannot participate. And I think at some point the music stops, and once your community leaves, thats it for your project, Lu said.
DRIFTs price has climbed over the past week, though its exchange listings were somewhat staggered, and I wont claim to know causally why the price is up.
But maybe theres no silver bullet to avoiding most tokens dumping after launch. If making the token price go up was as simple as punching numbers in differently, wouldnt everyone be doing it?

Spoiler alert! This story contains spoilers for Greys Anatomys Season 20 finale Burn It Down, which aired May 30. If you arent caught up, you can stream the episode with a Hulu subscription.
It was all but promised that Catherine Fox would be on a tear when Greys Anatomy kicked off its Season 20 finale, as she learned in the unhinged penultimate episode that Meredith, Amelia and Teddy had gone behind her back to continue their groundbreaking research into Alzheimers disease. But there were a couple of times in Burn It Down when the Seattle surgeons held their ground against the intimidating Fox Foundation owner, including a grand gesture by Miranda Bailey and the interns to end the season on a cliffhanger. While it was a powerful statement of solidarity, the whole thing fell flat to me.
Catherine (Debbie Allen) got called out more than once in Greys Anatomys season finale. Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) refused to be bullied into handing over her Alzheimers research, choosing to publish it instead, and Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) accused Catherine of being on an ego trip when she told Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) that she couldnt operate on Station 19s Theo Ruiz. However, the biggest stand against Catherine came from Miranda and the first-years in defense of Lucas Adams.
At the end of Season 19, Lucas (Niko Terho) chose to operate on a patient after Teddy collapsed on the OR floor. The patient didnt survive, and after an investigation, the hospital board recommended that Catherine make the intern repeat his first year.
As she was about to dole out the punishment, the other four interns barged into the office and demanded that Catherine go against the boards recommendation or they would all walk. Catherine scoffed at the notion, saying they were all replaceable, and thats when Miranda (Chandra Wilson) made her entrance, asking if she, too, could be so easily replaced. The episode ended with the women in a death-stare stalemate.
Of the three times someone stood up to Catherine Fox in the Season 20 finale, Lucas situation held the lowest stakes. Meredith was fighting to save millions of people from Alzheimers. Teddy was fighting to save a firefighters life. The interns were fighting to save Lucas from either having to repeat a year or accept the cushy job hed been offered in Chicago? Um, I think hell be OK.
I love to see Miranda stand up for whats right, especially when shes coming to the defense of one of her protgs, but its hard for me to believe this was the hill shed choose to die on. She certainly did no such thing when George OMalley failed his intern exam and had to repeat a year. Miranda even told Simone earlier in the episode that it wasnt up to them where Lucas chose to continue his career.
Your Daily Blend of Entertainment News
Unfortunately, the all or none attitude of the interns was kind of hard for me to accept as well, due to behind-the-scenes happenings. If the first-year residents feel that strongly about remaining five strong, whats going to happen when Greys Anatomy loses cast member Midori Francis? No one knows yet how Mika Yasuda will be written out of the show, but will everyone threaten to quit again when that exit comes in Season 21?
Weve got a few months before we find out how Catherine responds to Mirandas ultimatum, but in the meantime, you can relive Season 20 or any of your favorite Greys Anatomy eras on Hulu. Also be sure to check out our 2024 TV schedule to see whats premiering soon.

Ellen Pompeo continues to rake in the cash as a consultant (and occasional guest star) for Greys Anatomy with very little screen time required as part of her deal and the other cast members are increasingly resentful, sources exclusively tell Closer.
After starring in the medical drama series full-time since the show premiered in 2005, the 54-year-old scaled back during the shows last two seasons. However, she remains an executive producer on the show and continues her signature voiceovers.
The problem continues to be Ellens insistence on staying heavily involved in the series, mostly off camera but occasionally in jarring and isolated guest appearances that only pull focus from the younger actors who are doing the heavy lifting and putting in the 16-hour workdays to actually make this drama work, an insider reveals.
When Greys debuted in 2005, Ellen starred alongside Sandra Oh, Katherine Heigl, Justin Chambers, T. R. Knight, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr., Isaiah Washington and Patrick Dempsey. However, most of the original cast moved on, and new doctors have been in and out of Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital.
Give them some breathing room and the show can take flight again, the source says of the newer cast members. Instead, you have Ellen hanging around picking at the carcass of this franchise while its still profitable. Its not a good look but what can you do?
At her peak, Ellen made a stunning $575,000 per episode, and it was estimated that she brought in about $20 million or more per season.
Ellen helped make this into a franchise but unlike virtually everybody else on the show, she hasnt cultivated many opportunities outside of the Greys universe, the source notes. She wasnt off making movies or TV pilots during her hiatus, she was vacationing and spending time with her family.
The source adds, Her entire career is built around this show, so even when she left two years ago, she never really quit. Its her obsession, her lifes work. And her failure to do any other significant movie or TV work only incentivizes her to keep holding on to the biggest hit shes ever been involved in.
According to the insider, Ellens team should have encouraged her to diversify her acting rsum. They add, Pre-Greys, Ellen even had a promising movie career. Everybody loved her in Old School in 2003 when she held her own opposite Vince Vaughn and Will Ferrell. But once she plugged into Greys and it became this massive hit, there was no going back and Ellen got super rich off it. But how about giving the younger actors a real chance and maybe going off and proving you can make hits on your own steam?

Jason George to Return to 'Grey's Anatomy' After 'Station 19 Ending - Just Jared
One of the longestrunning dramas currently on TV, few shows can boast of a fanbase as devoted as Greys Anatomy. The show concluded its 20th season on May 30 after already being renewed for a 21st season on April 2.
Fans scouring the internet to look for a potential release date for season 21 will be disappointed to know that a concrete date hasnt been announced as of yet. This is completely normal, though, as season 20 just ended, and it would be difficult for the studio to come up with a release date for the next season already. In terms of an estimated release window, Greys Anatomy is a part of ABCs 2024/25 schedule, and interested viewers will likely get to lay their eyes on the new season in fall 2025.
There have been some noteworthy changes to the 21st season: The budget has been decreased, the show will air on Thursdays at 10 p.m. instead of 9 p.m., and most importantly, it will have the regular number of episodes (an exact number hasnt been specified yet). The 20th season only had 10 episodes because of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Since season 2, the show has had at least 17 episodes in every season.
There will be some decision-making involved from the creators with regard to the cast of Greys Anatomy season 21, since multiple actors are on expiring contracts: Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr., Camilla Luddington, Caterina Scorsone, Kim Raver, and Kevin McKidd. The shows heartbeat, Ellen Pompeo, hasnt confirmed a return to the show since exiting in season 19. At this stage, it looks like she will only be involved in the capacity of providing episode voiceovers.
Greys Anatomy season 21 will be available live on TV on ABC once the season premieres. In case fans miss the live telecast, they can catch the episode the next day on the ABC app or ABC.com. Past seasons of the show are available on Hulu and Netflix, and the former also provides the option of watching a fresh episode the day after its debut.
